1.6 ounce Stand WAY OFF Scale Cessna

Well, I finally got my hands on one of the new RFFS-100 systems from Dan Hurd. All I can say is... AWESOME! This system is going to open up a whole new world of micro planes for us.

I threw this little Cessna (supposed to be a 180) together as a whim, to see if the system would fly it. Here are the specs:

Span.......... 18 inches
Area........... 66.3 sq in (.46 sq ft)
Weight......... 1.6 ounces
Wing loading.. 3.48 oz/sq ft
Fuel............ 50 mAh NiCad X 3
Motor.......... M-20 Geared
Prop........... U-80

Radio functions: rudder, elevator, and throttle.

Materials: 1/8 balsa fuselage, 1/16 balsa ribs, 1/32 balsa wings, tail feathers, and wing struts.

GREAT system! Thanks, Dan.

Hey good stuff sr71! Any chance of snagging some plans?

Is that "NIN" under the left wing? If so, great choice

No Plans

Buddly6,

Sorry, but I have no plans. I free-handed a side view on the balsa, and started chopping away. Ribs were drawn on 3X5 cards and cut out with scissors to use as a template to draw them on the wood. Just look at a picture of the full scale of whatever you want to build, and go for it.

"N" Number

Trizza,

The registration number is N11171. I got in a hurry and goofed them up, so they look really bad. Imagine... messing up on ones and sevens.

Gary,
I would've thought your N number would have been "NSR71"
