Stupid Gravity
I balance all my props, it really does make a difference. They run smoother and the lack of vibration does not rob the motor of power. Try it you'll like it!

I always balance bigger props, say 10" and up. The smaller props are hit and miss, mostly miss.

Balance every one (well at least throw it on the balancer for a quick check) . Sometimes a prop will be close 'enough' .

Straight up is all I ask
Oh yeah I balance my props , but I know too many that don't. They are to cheap to buy a balancer They'll learn what vibration can do to an airplane the hard way .

DEFINITELY! Well worth the time and energy. Think about how your car feels when it has a tire out of balance...........And that's usually just a tiny amount out.
I have had several APC E props that I actually had to toss they were so bad. Mainly the hubs were WAY off. Some of my 9x7.5 E props were horribly out of balance. Usually the 10-12" props are not too bad, but all need balancing at least a little.

Been flying about 8 months now and this is the first I've heard about balancing props. I rarely use props above 9". Should I worry about it? Will it make a difference?

Anyone wanna explain how this is done?

Been flying for 3 years and never have balanced. The argument about propeller shape vs. weight convinced me not to bother.

Interesting, I've been using them right along with no problem. Yes, the front hole is usually (mostly ) off center but the 'centering' hole for the centering rings in the back has been dead on ....

Of course. As stated above vibration robs you of power and of course any vibration has potential of shaking things loose or speeding up wear on components.

I don't bother balancing gunther type props, but all my APC props are balanced.

At this point, I only fly with folders or GWS orange props.

Does anybody know how to balence either? My buddy has a magnetic prop ballencer, but it's shaft is too large for GWS props and I can't imagine how to ballence a folder on it.
