Help!

XL or SE for first time CP flyer?


Hey guys, so I'll make it brief and to the point so that I don't waist any ones time.

I'm looking to upgrade to a CP and am very much leaning towards the Trex XL , but wondered if spending more and getting the SE which has all the aluminum upgrades would prove to be a more durable machine, especially in the likely event of hard landings and crashes. Or does the aluminum break just as easily as the plastic and cost more to replace?

Any thoughts are appreciated !

If you can afford it, Id get the SE.
The ali bits are supposed to be more durable, and perform better.

However, if getting the SE means youd have to skimp on the electronics, get the XL.

If you read on trextuning.com they only say that a hard core 3d pilot will benefit from the alum parts. They recomend sticking with the stock XL parts.

Definitely not a hard core 3d flyer, but just wondering if the aluminum makes the helicopter more durable in crashes, or if it creates weaker links else where.
Not so worried about the cost, I just don't want to go home after the first hard landing if you know what I'm saying.

Imho, the plastic breaks pretty easily. So I'd recommend the SE.

I crashed my XL last week, very lightly. But the damage cost over a $100. So I just bought a new kit for $150. If I had money though, I would have bought the SE.

The SE has rigidity which is great! The pastic fly awesome too, whiher you choose you won't be dissapointed!
