Help with motor please

All

I have an Aeronaut "Elektro Akrobat" kit - I think it is quite an old model but..it was designed for e-power and I want to begin building it. It is an aerobatic plane!

The original recommended motors are a MARX GT 300/12v or a MARX GT300/24v - I am sure these no longer exist.

The instructions recommend more than 300w of power.

other specs are -
recommended prop 10.5x6,
10 to 20 cells recommended (but the box says 14 to 24 cells - go figure !!)
wingloading with 14 cells 52g/dm2 - total weight 2400g
wingloading with 24 cells 62g/dm2 - total weight 2900g
from the above two items they are allowing +- 50g/cell

so what motor would you recommend!!

Hard to say without knowing what type of model you have...

Need all the specs (wing area, span, airfoil would be good, weight with servos etc.. but no battery or motor) and your preference for speed or thrust plus how much power you'd trade for duration.

You can reduce the cell count a good bit with a brushless motor, since those recommendations are for older low-Kv DC brushed motors.

There are some good deals on Motor/Controller combos starting today at the site below...

Cheers,

Lots of options.

You can get more than 300W from a Endoplasma and 10 cells, however based on the weights I don't think this is the best answer.

I think I would use 16 cells +- a couple.

For brushed motors AF25 or AF40, but I really wouldn't do this buying new I would go brushless.

Jeti or Mega 45/3 would work direct with about the same size prop as list on 16 cells.

Plettenburg should have something that will work.

Actro 24-3 or -4 or a 12-4 or -5.

Hacker B50S or L with some gearing.

Kontronic Fun600 or samba geared or a tango direct.

Maxcim system should work good.

Aveox - would guess a 36/24/3 geared or 36/38/3 if you want direct drive

The model motor AXI 2820/12 could also be an option.

The AXI or Mega direct would be the lower cost options out of my list, but might not be the highest performance.

How much do you want to spend?

Thanks for the input - I will get more specific details on wingarea etc and post them tomorrow. I am looking for reasonable flying performance - not ballistic - ie ability to do loops , rolls, stall turns etc with about 5 to 8 min duration.

I did have one of the Jeti brushless motors in mind as they seem to give a lot of bang for your buck!
