Graupner Speed 480 Race 7,2 V : Battery Nimh or Lipo ???

I have a problem with a Speed 480 Race 7,2V.
I have a personal little delta with this engine.
The fly is very good but my battery is dead after only 15 flight.(8 x 1800Nimh GP + Camprop 5,5 x 4,3 for 20 A).
What batteries of size AA and +/- 1200mAh (I have no place for the others formats in the aircraft) could resister has 20 A
Is it possible to use LIPO 3S on a speed 480Race 7,2V ? (I think 11,1V it's very big). Props to fly fast?

Advance thank you.

Excuse me for my bad english.

AA cells are not very good at high current.

I would say that a slightly different prop, and a 2s LIPO pack o 2200 capacity, would be more suitable.

Maybe a 5x5.

If you go to 3s LIPO the motor will be OK but you will need something like a 4.1x4.1 prop to let the motor rev.

This suits a very fast model, but not a larger slower one.

On 3s LIPO consider permax 450T - its very nice on a 6x4 and pulls about 20A.

Thank you for your answer.

I am going to try 2 LIPO wiht 5 x 5 prop...and a little...ballast. (My old battery is +/- 250 Gr.

I see the Sanyo Catalog and I think thats 7 x cells Sanyo 2/3 1300 CP are also good for the same weight (+ /- 250 gr).
