16th Annual SPARCS Winter Fly-In: North of Silverthorne, CO; Jan. 22

The South Park Area RC Society (SPARCS) will be holding it's 16th Annual Winter Fly-In on Sunday, January 22nd, 2006. This year's event will be held at Teke's "Lost Creek RC Airpark", which is located about 14 miles north of I-70 on Colorado Highway 9 from Silverthorne, Colorado. (Silverthorne is about 55 miles west of Denver on I-70)

Lost Creek Airpark is on Teke's private property at 8600 feet ASL; the snowfall has been well above average this year in Summit County, so flying from Ron's 500 foot long groomed snow runway should be superb, as usual! Get your skis on your planes and join us! (Wheels will NOT be suitable.)

This is an event for both 'wet power' and electric powered aircraft.

There will be a $10 pilot's landing fee. Spectators are welcome- bring your bag chair& enjoy the winter flying action. Food & beverages will be available. So put on your good snow boots, and join us for a great day of winter flying!

For photos of previous events, a map to this flying site, and contact information, as well as ski design & setup details on some of the skis we have been building and successfully flying for many years, visit this Winter Flying page:

Weather looking good for flying on the 22nd

The weather forecast for the Winter Fly-In is looking good; fresh snow will fall on Wednesday into Thursday, with clearing after that and warmer weather by Sunday, and highs into the 30s, and partly cloudy skies forecast. It looks like good traveling conditions, and good winter flying weather.

Hope you can join us!
