Dancing Wings FD12 Windrunner DLG

I have bought a new kit to build in bad weather days. I have choice version with servo, cover foil, and transport bag.

In five day from order, I have received my FD12 kit. Very quickly.

Some pictures from unboxing and checking the content of kit.

First step

I prepared the work surface for half a wing.

Then I cut out all the pieces.

Second step

Removing the rest of the fixings in the board. That's all for today, after a longer break. I hope to finish it by spring ...

Now it's ready to start assembling ...

A half of wing - begin

I started assembling a half wing.

One problem that arose: the rib slots did not match those on the plan, reaching the tip of the wing to be equal to the thickness of the rib. I corrected this of course, so that it matched the plan.

A black ball for the manufacturer!

Continue with step 21 and 22 from "manual" - see the pictures.

I use for glue carbon road and glass pieces epoxy 30 minutes.

Carbon sheet 0.5 mm x 520 mm are not in my kit ! Second black ball for manufacturer !

I will replace with 0.5 mm carbon road x 520 mm, from my personal stock ...

The other half of the wing

Same error between the plan and the laser cut parts... Be careful...

No comments, pictures speak.

The other half of the wing - next

/Another error in the central support of the ribs.

A laser cut, which had no purpose and which decreases the resistance of the wing.

I corrected it, but the manufacturer still gets a black ball ! You can see it in the pictures.

I had to use a stiffener to fix this problem.

I worked on the two wing halves.

I glued some more pieces to one, and while I waited for the glue to dry, I sanded the tip of one half of the wing. I'll probably have to insist.

I also tested the joiner for the wing dihedral. It went in hard, I had to sand it lightly. I'll glue it in at the end.

And the first weighing of the wing halves, one with the tip sanded, the other not yet, hence the difference.
