Looing for kit or plans of Republic Sea-Bee

I found a thread here in the forums but the images are no longer available.

I also found this: http://www.myunclewillies.com/about3.html which is a good source. I am just checking into alternatives.

Please let me know where I might find a kit or plans of this plane.

Thanks,
-Todd

The old Aeromodeller Plans Service had a Republic Sea Bee as a free flight gas model at 53 1/2" span plan no. FSP319
re "Uncle Willie" I am not 100% sure but I think he was banned from here for copyright infringements. You may want to tread carefully.

Republic Seabee Plans

Tom Mountjoy published a Seabee in RCM some years ago, it's in their catalog. RCM was selling plans and books after the magazine ceased publication, and it's worth a call to see if they are doing it this year, too.

I've always been fascinated by this plane.Mountjoy's design was interesting. He had a removable nose boom with lead weight on the end to achive proper cg for flight with .40 glow engine. The glow model structure looked as if it would need serious lightening and be difficult to balance as an electric conversion. Lipos and all r/c gear would have to be mounted as far forward as possible, and tail structure and linkage would have to be via flex cables or pull-pull with as light a tail structure as possible. Water takeoffs will be a challenge. I think that the Cleveland plans would be a good starting point, probably lighter. I'd like to see somebody produce a small light foamie version, taking liberties with wing area etc., for good water take offs and scale like flight.

not to get anyones hopes upin the near future, but I bought an old minicraft Sea Bee (38'ws) CL kit.. plan on using it for a mold to do a 40" ws glass fuse kit.. I'll post if and when its built and flown ( and I build soooo slow lol!)

Meanwhile, take some time and read the neat stuff on this website including what it is like to fly a Seabee. You can buy one for $65-150K
