Alternatly I just picked up a digital camera for $19.00 off of ebay. It's 640x480 and is very very tiny. It's marketed as a "shirt pocket spy cam" or something to that effect. I doubt that it weighs much more than 1 oz, and removed from the case probably weighs a lot less still. It runs on 2 AAA's which means a lead from your RX will probably run it just fine. I'll let you know how things work out with it.

here's an Aussie review of the Aiptek PenCam

The Resolution is normally 640x480, but you can go to a res of 320x240, (uauugh!). In continuous mode this gives you twenty seconds.
Only a few seconds available in VGA in continuous

Aerial Photography

Interested in trying my hand at aerial photography with my Lite Stik. Is it possible? Can I use a cheap camera like a one use Kodak?

My Stik is bare bones for the most part - no decals or landing gear. I use Radical RC 7-cell 300ma packs or Rayovac 9v. Standard issue GWS pico pack.

Any thoughts appreciated.

It's not that cheap, ($69.00) but it is fairly light,

I just picked up an Aiptek PenCam VGA, (2 oz, with two AAA alkalines.)
It has a QVGA 20 second video feature and a USB port direct cable and some neat photo editing software. It also comes with a Web site to post photos to, but I've not explored this option..

I think its weight precludes use in GWS powered planes, I am going to try it in my twin boxer motored slowie as it seems not lacking in thrust

You'll need Win98 to run it though ( didn't read the system reqirements.

PenCam update:
I bought one of the new Aiptek Mini PenCams, (it says Megacam on the camera), 68 grams with 2 AAA batteries. The images are 1248 x 960 in hires mode and are not great, but pretty good. It will hold about 50 hires pics and 45 or so seconds of 640 x 480 avi video. It has 16 megs of separate ram for each.
I needed a platform for it so I made a wingo type clone out of bluecor with a chunk of a foam water noodle toy for the body, a cf fuse, and strapped on a GWS EPS-300C (DS)with a Wattage 8 cell 800mah NiMH pack and an 11 x 8 prop. Here is a pic of the plane and a sample inflight pic (shrank down for speed of dling, but you get the idea). The plane is rough as it is in beta first flight stage, but it works so I can clean up the wiring now and make it pretty, not!

Folks around Trabuco Canyon insist they're not
