F-14 FFF Profile propjet

Hi all

Merry Christmas! Attached are the plans for the F-14 profile propjet I've been working on. Thanks to Gene Bond for helping with the plans again! Designed to fly with GWS350B gearing, flies fairly docile on 2s 9047 prop, but throw a 9x6 or 9x7 and it picks up its pace considerably! While not quite as nimble as the F-16XL I designed, this plane flies well and I like the way it looks!

Build guide can be found here now!

Hope you all enjoy!
Kyle

Merry Christmas and happy holidays.

Glovesave thanks for nice plane design and great build guide. I will probably start building tommorow if the store is open so i can buy some hotglue.

Tow man, are you going to use bp 12? I have bm 2410 Y and i am pretty sure its the same thing, what prop are you using?

CP, I'm going with a BP-21 with an 8x4 dd prop. I have one that has longer wires for pusher jet already on it. Pages are printed now to cut and tape.

I'm assuming you guys are going to go with 3s on it? According the BP website it looks like 3s w 8040dd will generate 21 oz of thrust @13A! Should be pretty lively on that! BP12 on 3s 8043 is 20.6oz @10.3A, again according to their website.. Just be sure to get your CG in the ballpark with that 3s pack.. My polyquest 2s 1500 packs weigh approx. 2.6oz.

Please let me know how it goes! I've always wanted to fly the F-16XL and this F-14 using a BP21.. Have fun guys!

Not to worry I run my 21's with a couple of HD 910mAh Kokams not as heavy as a 1500 and flight times are long enough. Depending on what my final weight comes out at I might be able to fly it with a 2 cell 1500 got about 6 of them.

I am not sure what motor i have, well, its BM2410Y from aero-nuts.com, and i thought it was the same as bp 12, but i guess not, its ment for 10-11" props but with 3cells it should be fine with 9x6, If i (i really hope to) get to building the plane i will be using tp 1320 3cells prolite which are 85 gramms

Glov, you've got nothing on the mounting or the correct location of the verticle Stabs in your directions. I'm going by your pictues.

Ok mine is together, added 17" carbon tubes to the wings. I was afraid that with the BP-21 they would mush back. Weight is 5 oz's.

Now for some marking's and the gear.

Hmm..Hope you were able to figure it out.. It is in step 28 on page 32 of the build guide. Let em know if I need to make some changes to make it clearer - I'm completely open to suggestions on how to make the plane or the build guide better!
The reason why step 28 (glue the fuse top and tails) is where it is in the guide is that when Gene Bond built my F-16XL, he suggested that it was alot easier to complete that step in the process later on, as you can lay your fuse flat on the table and install your r/c gear, then glue the fuse top etc. on.

Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help! and Let's see some pics once you got 'er together!

Glov my bad I over read that page. I got them on in the right spot though. Motor mount is drying and servo's are next. I have Monday off from work so if the wind cooperates it will be in the air.
