Thread OP

Any new NiMH high capacity/high discharge cells on the horizon?

Since it is still difficult to fly F5B with lipo, we are forced to use NiMH.. 220 amp territory. The GP-3700 cell was king of the hill until the IB-3800 came around... That was last March.. Anyone know of anything new and improved?

Notice dimple on negative end, should give the cell better voltage at high amps.

In the other thread you mentioned the IR and volts at 30 amps of these cells. To save a lot of trawling through old threads, what can you say about the performance of the 4200s compared to the 3800s at this stage?

The two test samples were 1.220 and 1.215 at 30 amps. The runtime was 503 and 513. I am going to run them at 70 amps today, I expect them to do well. I was also told that the production cells will have more capacity as well.

thanks,
Steve

Weights were 66.6g and 67.6g on these test samples

I'm hoping for a 2.5-3Ah cell to replace the HR1950FAUP or GP2200 cells. I only need 35A current capacity.

If it get to 4500+ mah, I would say it is a good alternative to Lipo. Any opinion ?

Sure, you can't run lipo at 220 amps.. for F5B applications, NIMH is the ONLY game in town
