Oceanside/San Diego XMas sloping?

Hey all,

I'm gonna be down in the N. County San Diego area from the 23rd through the 30th. I've got XMas plans and a few other minor commitments, but I'm bringing my light-lift Liftworx planes and will be itching to do some sloping; as well as teaching my family some with a buddy-box setup (my Dad doesn't know it yet, but he's getting a complete setup for his present this year - I'm doing my part for sloper world-domination! *grin*)

I'll be closest to the O'side / Carlsbad area, but I'm willing to drive a little to try out the Cali slopes - I grew up down there but didn't get into R/C until I moved away.

Anyone want to get together and do a little group-flying between XMas and the New Year?

Thanks, take care,

Yeeeehaaa, Karl Strauss flying!

Noel, you will want to give Louie a call. If it is not blowing at the hill
Karl Strauss Brewery is just on the other side of the hill. Dang, might have
to find an excuse to get out and "fly " Carlsbad with you guys.

Count me in anytime between Christmas and New Years since I have that week off.
The lift's been awfully light but the Alula still manages to stay aloft. If you guys don't have one, ya should!

I'll be bringing a Swyft and the ultra-light & maneuverable micro-Herring project; although its gotten a little beat up over the summer months...

Thanks all! Will update this post and PM folks when I get down to the area next week.

Take care,

All of you are welcome at my spot, K maybe not louie . C'bad is fun but not a whole lot of lift to have fun with. Drop me a PM if you want to hit some big(er) lift.

Heck, yeah... Just need to remember to bring ballast for my 5 oz. plane... I've flown it in 30mph winds, so I think it'll do fine there. ;-)

OK, things are firming up... My dad has the plane about 75% complete, I think he'll finish it tonight or early tomorrow morning. Am planning on doing some flat-land flight training with him and my buddy box the morning of the 27th, and then POSSIBLY going out to C'Bad later on, if the weather is cooperating.

Again, the weather is a factor, but I also expect us to be out at Carlsbad on the 29th. These planes are very light, but will handle about 20mph of wind - so if anyone has other slope sites to suggest near the Vista/Oceanside area, lemme know!

Anyone have a time to suggest for the 29th? Are the winds usually better during a particular part of the day?

Lookin' forward to meeting up!

Take care,

--Noel

P.S. Feel free to PM me if you want me to call ya when we're heading to the slopes...
