Hanger 9 65" P-47 Thunderbolt...
Hi Everyone,
Hanger 9 have excelled themselves with their new P47! Straight forward conversion, super performance. Thanks to Gordon Whitehead for the pics and video. 65" wingspan, 8-3/4lb flying weight, E-flite 60 motor, Jeti Advance 75-3P ESC, Thunder Power 6000mAh 6S3P ProLites (superb), 16" x 10" APC Pattern prop, 6800rpm @ 55A, 10lb static thrust, 64mph pitch speed This is the link to the video hosted by Google: http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...p47&pr=goog-sl It's best to let it finish buffering (takes around 5 minutes on my system) and then replay it. I use 'original size' with 'smooth video' ticked (see far right arrow icon). ...shame about the landing! Have a great Christmas, Pete. |

Pete,
Great looking model! Any chance you could show photos of your motor setup without the cowling on? Dan |

Hi Ramone,
Thanks. Yes, it's a super model. Hi Dannydaville, No problem with the cowling off pic. The pic shows the cooling air deflector and the two cooling air outlet troughs. These take the heated air out through the semi open gills of the upper cowling but are invisible with the cowling in place. A full review of the conversion is scheduled to be published in the March edition of the Quiet & Electric Flight International (QEFI) magazine, a Traplet publication. Cheers, Pete. |

Pete,
Nice photo. I'm interested in knowing where you obtained the prop adapter shown on your E-Flite 60. I have the E-Flite 46 and would rather use the adapter you have than the one supplied from Horizon Hobbies. It looks like the adapter that is sold separately for the Axi line of brushless outrunners. |

Hi Dannydaville,
Yes, spot on. The adaptor off my 4130/16 bolted straight onto the E-flite motor. It was my prefered way to secure the prop. Pete. |

Hi Tommy,
Lots of exponential on all axes makes for nice rolls. Hi Kelvin, All the H9 warbirds I have are great performing models. I am sure one day they will produce a Spitfire. |

Hi Hohensej,
After the 10 minute flight in the video the pack measured 40 degrees centigrade on a digital thermometer. It was a cool Novembers day, I would guess 5 degrees C. I am happy with that and do not make special provision to get air into, and more importantly, away from the cells. Pete. |
