That wouldn't be something like that foamy flying hydroplane, would it? It's just that boating types tend to consider getting airborne as a prelude to disaster

Ouch, someone doesn't seem to see the fine line between humour and sarcasm...
@Elroy, if you can't stand the heat, stay..... Didn't this ducted fan subject pop up on another forum/thread? If I remember correctly the ducted fan shaft had to drive a propshaft (surface piercing drive) to be effective. Regards, Jan. |

I think the gurus had a problem with ducted fans not producing enough effective thrust at zero airspeed. This meant that some form of running (swimming?) start being necessary.
