That's a nice looking boat. It'll probably go better with sails
The trouble with internet is that we can't all get together for a regatta. Maybe we can. You're about 50 km south of Lisboa. It would make a nice spring trip if I can get an invite and sardinas would be good washed down with muscadel .... I've added your web page to my favourites just in case |

That's a very smart looking boat!
Complements on the paintwork. The Fairwind has a very quick hulldesign, but the Kyosho designers have managed to mess that up with the addition of the bullky keel, which is: a) too shallow, making the Fairwind a typical lightweatherboat and: b) too thick, which causes it to be substantually slower than a Saphir. A couple of guys in the Netherlands have recognized this and are currently updating a Fairwind with a "Saphir race set" consisting of the keel and rudder of the Saphir. Check out this link: Not for the young or the fainthearted! http://www.mzgn.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?t=106 Regards, Jan. |

Very nice racy coulor scheme
Martin, you are a connoisseur ! Here goes a link to a detailed list of some precious fluids that we produce "over here" (the portuguese word for muscadel is moscatel ) : http://www.wineanorak.com/portug.htm Cheers, Joćo |

That should provide even greater stimulus. I hear you also do a fine assortment of cod dishes. I might just come for the food and wine and leave the boats for another time.

I just love the sawing of the keel...... But the results are so much better!!! I've been known for sawing off undesireable elements from expensive items. Nice project.

Thanks for the video, Paulo. Is there a competition planned between your friends in Setebul and Joao's in Coimbra?
Btw the Portuguese scale sailing boats on your website look good too. |

Paulo, congratulations again on the Fairwind and the website. I“m looking forward to a visit as soon as I have "cleared the tower" (in rocket terminology) from the current work peak.
Martin, we haven“t nothing yet defined but I would be really pleased if you came along as well from Spain with or without the Saphir. Returning to the F3G class (gastr..... ) I can confirm that we have a thing with Codfish as the following link explains: http://www.epinions.com/content_1353162884 A great choice for a stay in Portugal: http://www.pousadasofportugal.com/index.html The Sagres pousada seems to have great slopes around for RC soaring. Got to check that out next year. Regards, Joćo |

It definately looks like a trip south is on the cards for the new year. Might be a little dryer and warmer than here in the north of the peninsular.
