Gravity sucks.

I'm sure with a hotwire and a sheet of 2" pink foam you could make a very nice 130.Come on, its got the simplest lines this side of a B29!
Why don't you get the Skip Mast plans from MAN and shrink them to the size you want.It has all templates, and is all foam. It's big(over 100",4x.25 glow), but would be an easy build!
You could probably get the thing to fly well with 4 x MM geared , 12-10 props,20 cells...

Shrink it to 60" or so and go 4 x S400 6 volt DD off 7 or 8 3000 cells.....

Just a thought

I will second Mark's suggestion. If you have the slightest inclination to build your own model someday from scratch, this one would be a good place to start. Tons of room for components, easy proportions and lines, and tons of relative wing area to account for most weight gains if you aren't careful on the design and build.

If this doesn't sound like fun, then let's hope the EAM model doesn't keep you waiting too much longer!

There are a few foam C-130 kits available in Germany.

A gaint — and I mean BIG — scale version is available through Rodelmodell and it's powered by four Speed 600 motors direct without gearbox. Click on the Styro Fly Seriesin the Rödel Website and the C -130 is listed at the bottom. And a smaller size — more likely what you're looking for — is available through Steinhardt. Click on Import Seriesand then on Innovative Models. This smaller kit by Innovative Models is actually produced in Holland. (Ooopps! My mistake. It's actually in Belgium — see next post...)

The foam quality of these kits is very good, and these firms will ship foreign orders. If you managed to get hold of a Rödel C-130, you'd be the only guy on the block — and maybe even in the country — to have one!

Hello gromitvt10
There is a C-130 plan for foam here
It is in CAD so it can be resized.

I don't believe Saturn is making that C-130 kit anymore though. The website has a date from 1998.

Check out some of the photos on the Australian Electric Flight Assn web pages - www.aefa.asn.au - I believe Cam Wylie has made the kit available (I suspect it is was probably him who supplied Saturn Hobbies). His e-mail address is stubacco@hotmail.com
