Martin,
The Ryan is the new one that Great Planes just released. Not the large BARF but the YBIY ( You Build It Yourself ) electric kit.
ws 49in 400sq/in 3.6lbs
The kit calls for 7cell GD600
I used a 6turn AF 05 w/ 2-1 belt drive, 10cp2400
APC-E9-6 turns 11000 rpm on fresh pack
21 0z/sq.ft about 85 watts per lb
For more info and pics see the E Zone thread " Belt drive for Ryan STA " in the scale electric forum.

Awww, I didn't get to fly, it was too windy. On Friday though I had a great day of flying. I flew my House of Balsa Micro Electric Cub, soon to be sporting Navy colors and my Mega powered E3D (a big park flyer) Boy those knife edges are cool with that thing.

Perfect, Perfect, Perfect!

Hello All:

Well today was absolutly PERFECT! (In NY,Bronx)

Lets see I flew today:

I started out with my TwinViper and 4 batt pack 9 cell 1300cp.
I must say I really Love the TwinViper, it performes so nice and flys like it on rails!

Then I took out the Champion with Astro 010 and 10 Cells 500niicads. Its such a fun little plane, its sooo squreily!

Then It started getting a little crowed in my park, so I took out my good old reliable Wingo, I had a nice time floating around.
And making spot landings with it. And even can catch it for a nice hand landing!

Then went to eat dinner, change planes and get som new Packs!

Made my back just befor dark, for about an other hour I flew my
Wattage 330L stock 480 motor on 10 cell 600ae, I like this plane, she got nice trust on take off for ROG. good climb, nice relaxed rolls, loops, inverted flight. And landing this well made plane is really a treat. The crowed certainly like it!

Ok, last but not least, my T33 Stock, on 7cells 2400.

I love this ducted fan, its a great trainer, flight reliably. good climb, nice axel rolls, loops....Then the dead stick glide in perfect landing! Woohoo! What a day... I had my best day in a long time..

Today is a day that makes it all worth the hard work keeping up the fleet, and not to mention the $..

I hope to read many more good flights from other Ezoners.
I also hope to get a great day tomorrow. Good luck to all, good flying to all!

Had a great day, after the morning flights I told ya'll about, we set the pool up for the kids, then went and saw Star Wars, then I flew a few more times this evening. These 3 day weekends are addicting

Cruz- c'mon up! I'll save some calm weather for you

Nice plane Harm, I think I read about it in another thread, is it the li-on powered one?

sgil2001, really sorry to hear about your Zero. If it doesn't fly as well, then stick a bigger motor on it

Jeff- really glad to hear the advice was of some help, does my old cold stone-of-a-heart good Hope you have many more fun flights ahead!

Al, I saw your pic, very cool! I was flying my TM this evening, it was silhouetted against a gorgeous, colorful sunset. I was kicking myself for not bringing my camera.

frankenfoamy- looks like another neat GWS product, thanks for the sneak-peek. Should be really interesting with the floats I've been hearing about, although if it's got the "A" motor I can't imagine it has the power to get on step!

James- WOW!!! That's a great flying day, especially with no carnage to report Congrats, sounds like a blast!

Paul and Mike- I'll send some of ya'll this great weather, but you have to promise to send some snow here in August, OK?

I flew a Wattage P-51 Reno Racer with the stock prop and 380 motor. Fun and fairly fast once it gets going. It begs for thier super cobalt 400. I built the wing witha 1/4" dowel spar, because I already have flown that motor in the Wattage 232, SST 09, and a production sample of thier speed 400 pattern ship. I had good results in the pattern ship useing an APC 6x4e and sanyo 500 nicads. I will put that set uo in the Reno tomorrow.

Nice shot Genovia. I've gotten an eyeful of that very view so many times that now I always wear a hat AND sunglasses when I fly! I always seem to manage to eclipse the sun at least once every flight on every plane

Tres Wright,

I almost lost her in that shot. I looked straight into the Sun, where the Cub was at the time, and I lost her for 5 seconds after that.... Man!! my heart was jumping

I can see you smile'n from here BOOMERACE, it's nice to get our planes up like that and go home without any scratch on them. I love it.

I am not mastering how to crash now. I can finally fly my airplanes, 4 weeks, and not a crash yet... I LOVE IT, I love it
