I'm going to shoot myself!

The Tipsy is ready, radio charged, batteries peaked, no wind, all set to go, BUT I CANNOT FIND MY WING BOLT!!!!!!!

I have spent the last 2 hours looking, but I can't find anything that is the same size that I can use!

You will find it as soon as the wind picks up!

I feel your pain. I once forgot the wing to one of my planes after driving out to the field. That's why, I always carry a spare plane. Keep searching it'll be where you least expect it.

Go to the grocery store and get some bamboo skewers. Stick one through the fuse in front of the wing saddle, one behind. Glue in place. Rubber band the wing on, and go fly!!

Then, while the batteries are recharging, go to your LHS and look for a wing-bolt set for a medium-sized slimer. You should find one that has a nylon bolt you can use.

My stuff usually falls into the wastebasket at the end of the couch (never learn). When it's not there I usually find it right after I find or make a suitable substitute.

Sounds like my habit of putting a screwdriver in my back pocket, then spending three hours looking for it..... ...you'd think I'd learn....

When the bolt & post ripped out of my Tipsy last weekend, I looped a couple of medium-size rubber bands over the tail, slid them down behind the wing, and looped up and over the nose. This held together to complete the day's flying. I may do the bamboo skewer thing as a permanent solution - the bolt arrangement keeps having problems.

I always lose those puny little screws that you use to mount your gearbox on the motor. Probably have a dozen of them on the basement floor. And my alltime favorite, the little screw that holds
your control arm on to the servo. They should make this stuff flourescent!!!!

Thanks to all who replied.

I gave up after 2 1/2 hrs. I am now using a normal steel bolt!

Adds 2 grms to the weight!

Didn't get a chance to fly her though, wind kicked in just as I gave up!
