Looks like it was a sweet show! That F-117 is very cool.

We got kind of unlucky this year. The other EAFB, Ellsworth Air Force Base, had to cancel the 2005 show to concentrate on base closing proceedures. Luckilly, the base was taken off the BRAC list. They're already planning the 2006 open house, which should be a great show.

That orange box in the F-35 bay is for test instrumentation.

Very nice photos, thanks for the link! Didn't Chuck Yaeger loose his license due to failing a physical a while back? At any rate it was nice to drink in these wonderful examples of warbirds!

And that orange box in the F/A-22 bay is for instrumentation, as well...

The F-35 at Edwards must have had the cloaking device turned on full time...

Oh, Sparky...even you can tell the difference between a fighter with one generator of noise and heat from dead dinosaurs and a fighter with two of the same thing...

I wasn't at EAFB.. I was 30 miles away flying toy airplanes both days.
The only F-35 I've seen was the prototype's first flight as the JSF, way back when.
The -22 gets refurbed here in Palmdale, I hear something (can't see them) with lots of grunt flying out of Plant 42 on the odd occasion... damn grey paint jobs work too well!
And bofem got two BRTs squirting noise out the back end..
