Mig21 for Microfan
Well I threatened to make this plane to go along with the edf55 F105 I'm building so this is what the weekend brought about.
So far airframe is only 4.5 ounces so all up should come in at about 11 ounces. Cheers --- Stacker |

Thanks guys,
I never have a problem finishing the beer, but sure takes me a long time to finish a plane. This is #5 in the works now, it's starting to look like the ghost squadron in the workshop with all this white foam. I think if I did it over I'd try a flat plate wing on this one. I wanted to put landing gear on so I went with a built up wing. Stacker |

Think I'm going to try a CD motor in the Microfan. I've got a the parts comming from James at http://www.cdrworks.com/ I've used the same setup in some of my 55 fans and they make for a nice lite setup. I'm going to try to use my TP1320 prolite and try for 130-150 watts.

Wayno-san,
Wingspan is a bit under 24" and is larger then scale, length is 28" from intake to rear exhaust. I think I will turn the bottom fin into a small cheater same as I'm going to do on the F105 I'm also building. Both planes have small vert. fins on the bottom of fuse, and both are in the right place to make a bit wider for more intake. Huckebein, Sorry no plans, but this is a simple plane, pritty much a tube with a wing. If it works I may try another but I'd go with a flate plate 6mm wing and the construction time would drop in half. Cheers -- Stacker |
