haha,
If it burns up I'll put another 5300 in it and stay at 3s lighter/more convenient.
I figure The F-86 ducting is smaller/less efficient than the migs and less air is less amps. You should use the wornout rotor too!

Definitely Scott. Can those two just be seperated? I'll have to transplant my Park BEC to the P-45 for the 16/7/3 on 4s run. I'd really like to try the 4200 on 5s first and don't want to solder at the field. Hmmm, minor details...

Mk2 fan? Mega 16/7/4

Did I miss something. I got a new MK2 fan from H-Lobby and a Mega 16/7/4
The motor is anout 1mm too big for the housing?
Whats Up? I'm sure others on the theard have used this combo. How did you open up the housing?
Thanks

Mine came from Euromodels already machined. You can take a dremel with a sanding drum or cut off wheel and open it up. OR see power's thread about how to machine a (WeMo Microfran) housing by hand here . You will also notice you will have to open up the rotor adapter hole to fit the Mega's 3.2mm (1/8th) shaft.

Let me know if there is any other Q's or problems. They are fun packages for the weight!!

MK 2 Fan

Justin
does the fan drop right in? This must be a different version of the MK2.
How long did it take you to get the fan from them. It also looks like their adapter is pre drilled out too?
Thanks

Okay, looks like I'm in business!
I got a CC phoenix45 ESC and a tiny 32gram 300mah 4cell receiver pack.
I'll start soldering everything and make a series connector to 4S my 2 2cell packs
Bruce

maybe I should leave the 25A esc in.....
It'd be cool to see a trail of smoke coming out the back!

Justin, they can be pulled apart but the front and back are what holds the canopy.Guess we could just use tape again?

Mark- That fan does come machined- it is a mk2 fan unit machined out just for using a Mega 16/7/x motor. The adapter with it is also opened for the Mega shaft size.

Bruce-I did not look into the fuse of his Huck to see how far back they can go, but with the 4.2oz batt, it was all the way up front almost touching the servo (definitely touching after a backflip! ) Don't know the space constraints in the Mig or F-86.

Scott- Maybe a new molded canopy if you want to preserve the original? The batt heigth would require some cockpit to be removed if the canopy is to be on. Tape is friendly, so is the paint!!!

Cycling packs to be ready...

At one point Scott saw some "smoke" trailing behind when we were using his new/old stock 8c Kokams. Quick land and all was well. When we hooked up the 4s setup and gave her the first throttle, a bit of dust blew out the rear and was funny.

I've been thinkin about some small smoke pyrotechnics that would looks really cool trailing behind.
