lets make a full fuse yak 54

i got a good three view and now i want to make a full fuse yak 54. i will try for good 3d and pattern type stuff. power will be either a himax 2015-4100 or himax 2812-0850 out runner. now all i need is help. i have never made my own plane from 3 views before. for the first plane i plan to do flat plate wings. the next will be airfoiled. so chime in and help. any help would be appreciated.

Are you planning on doing a scale looking fuse or the typical box profile fuse? I made one that is scale looking and it looks much much better but the knife edge did suffer a little.

Subscribed. I really want to see how this turns out. I'm slowly trying to build a realistic full fuse su31 out of depron. I'm just doing a little here and there so it may be awhile, but so far it has turned out better than I thought.

Best of luck!

ok i plan to get a good start today. i am going to start drawing plans from the 3 view. i may move the root of the ailerons in towards the fuse though. well see. i may also take a crack at an airfoil.

ok i did alot of measuring and drawing. hows a 34 inch wing span. 25.5 inches long, and a 7 inch tall rudder from bottom to top. also the stabaliser and elevator counter balances will be 13.5 inches wide with the greatest cord being near the rudder at 5.25 inches. does this sound good. also the nose from the front will be a 4 inch circle. (sounds small but once you draw one its pretty big). well tell me what you think. in the mean time, time to get some paper and pencil for plans. if all of you want plans i'm not sure how to get them to the computer but i will work on it. if anyone could help me pm me and i will give you my email address.

That is about the same size that I did. Mine used EPP carved and hollowed. Much easier than forming depron. If you search for EPP yak-54 you will probably find a thread on it. I was going to sell kits but the interest never developed.
