Pitts Special ARF

Hello everyone:

I just recieved my Raidentech Pitts Special ARF. its a nice little plane, the motor mount is a little flimsy, but the rest of the plane is nice, need to tell everyone who's interested in this kit that my Pitts did not have Ailerons on the top wing. The pictures on the website is a decieving. its a good price for the kit thought. oh, also the instructions do not tell you where the COG is.

Cool !!

I had not seem this before. Thanks for the update.

Did you add ailerons to the top wing? If so, can you tell us how? A Pitts isn't the same without double ailerons. Also, what power setup did you decide on. Looks good though.

no i thiink I will not add the ailerons, seem s like a lot of work acutally, so i'll try it stock. I'm thinking to put an axi 2212-26 or a razor 400 in a cobri gearbox, it comes with stick mount or balsa box style mount.

If that is the model without upper ailerons it certainly is deceiving.

That is not right! Did you contact them at all about it to see what is up?

As akrobatt said a pitts ain't right without quad aileron. Or any biplane for that matter!!

Kit does look nice otherwise though!

Obviously you mod'd it 'cause I see linkages between upper and lower wings ailerons.

i haven't done anything to it yet, it seems like the sample photo from raidentech is with ailerons on both wings. the actual plane mailed in box has only one set. I emailed them already about this. no reply until monday or so i suspect.

are the pants fiberglass? I am pleasantly surprised so far....it might be even lighter than my wattage pitts.

Would it be possible to post the weight of your Pitts parts (without gear)?

$65 bucks plus $8.00 shipping I guess, but, but.....what a deal.

Yeah, I'd like to know the weights compared to the wattage plane. I recall the wattage version being heavy, but don't remember where I read that.

Anyone else had any experience with their planes?

this plane is more scale and has a larger fuse than the wattage pitts, its not very heavy, I will weigh the parts without gear and post it after i get back from flying this morning. : )
