Hoellein INNOVATION rc glider - building
I started a new project. A small glider that I will build when the weather is rainy, as I see it will be at least in April.
My package caught two Easter holidays - Catholic to those who sent the package, and Orthodox to the local courier. I placed the order on April 7 (mea culpa), and I received it on April 18, after Orthodox Easter. It's good that I received it whole, without any problem. I started the manual study a few days before receiving this kit. The design of the fuselage is very similar to that of the Introduction/Inside F5J. The wing is something new - innovative. I started easily by cutting some components. |

I continued to cut more pieces and started to finish the cutting places, so that the pieces would be perfect. Anyway, the kit is very well laser cut.

The first two steps in the manual. I put the 6 assemblies to dry. Then I cut out the rest of the parts for the fuselage.

Today step 3 from manual. After glue web spar of the center panel, part F9 to the lower sheeting F1/F2, and then continue with glue web spars F10 for the outer surfaces of the lower panel F5/F6, I sanding the rear edge. The goal is to have the trailing edge at 0.5 mm thick. For that I glue a steel rod with diameter 0.5 mm. Now step 3 is finished.

I finished step 5 with the gluing of the ribs F14 at the indicated angle. I went to step 6 and glued parts F22 and F23, which are part of the attack board.

Today step 8 from manual.
Cut the overhanging sheeting on the leading edge and the sand the leading edge of the center part using the template S14. Cut the overhanging sheeting on the leading edge and the sand the leading edge of the outer panels according to the templates S15, S17, S19 and S21. Sand the sheeting at the trailing edge. (follow the airfoil) The trailing edge should have a thickness of approx. 1mm. I use a steel rod with diameter 1 mm for that. Carefully sand the sides of the middle section carefully, with the exception of the connecting ribs F14. Carefully sand the sides of the outer panels, with the exception of the connecting ribs F21. |

Today, I made an nose block R14 piece adapted to the engine I want to use in this glider. The original piece weighs 2.04 grams, and the one I made weighs 2.14 grams. It took me some time to work by hand. I think the pictures show the whole process of manufacturing the new piece R14.

Today, I begin step 9 from manual. It's about winglet.
I found this build log very good: https://www.rc-network.de/threads/in...%BCner.625278/ |

Step 10 is complete. The wing is almost ready. You have to be very careful when assembling the wing segments to get exactly the recommended dihedral. I am now waiting for the epoxy resin to dry. After about two hours I will check if everything is ok

I started working on the fuselage. I started yesterday and continued today, finishing steps 11, 12 and 13.
Then I have finished the wing preparing it for the covering operation. |

Today, step 14 ... I want to make a new R33, that fit with my cone 30 mm.
