It looks very interesting!
It is being sold as parkflyer only. I wonder what the actual usable range is.

It IS tempting. Maybe I know what to ask Mrs Santa for this x-mas. Of course it might help if I actually got my shop pulled back together in the new house and could do more than just look at un-built and half-built kits. Still... Hmm.

About time too! Our existing system is out of date and needs replacing soon! Spread spectrum is clearly the way to go. You don't expect to go to a peg board to check if your cell phone channel is already being used, do you?

I thought this was a system that came out awhile ago. It's just a module that plus into an existing 72mhz system. Am I wrong here?

i'm going to wait till after the 1st generation of these things. i know race cars have had this tech for a couple of years but it's a whole different ballgame when your plane is a 1000 ft. from you.
i had a 2.4 gig phone (do they still make these). i had to get rid of it because everytime i ran the microwave oven, it scrambled the signal. not only that, it picked up a lot of interference.

The system that came out before was for ground vehicles only. This is NOT a mdoule for a 72MHz system, this is a new 2.4GHz tx/rx system

How far can the DX6 "hear" other fliers?
A good rule of thumb is about ˝ mile. So any DX6 flier in that proximity will have total security.

I still have and use a 2.4GHz phone, and I can hear my wireless access point clicking through the channels. I think I'll wait, too.

Well ,, those boys have targeted their market! way to go. That still leaves the rest of of the 72mhz band in the dark ages, too bad . We need some of those little digital friends also.

Interference isn't an issue

Read the specs. This one sends 2 signals and has 2 separate receiver circuits with separate antennas so it should be bullet-proof from interference. If you are in an urban area with lots of other 2.4G devices you probably can't get more than 100m range though. In a remote area you could go farther, but then you won't have any problems on 72MHz.

Can't wait to see it in operation.

Rick.
