Fan Fold F-16 Falcon

Hey guys! Just testing the waters here. Anyone want an F-16? I am in the process of converting my CAD plans for my EDF F-16 into a fan-fold/sturdyboard design. Plane will be slightly larger than the EDF version. Length approx 40" WS approx. 33" It will be set up for 540 size pusher prop configuration. Prototype will use a Mega Brushless 22/20/4, 10 CP1700's. Very simple hot glue and packing tape construction.

Here is a teaser shot of the EDF version. Construction will be similar, and very close to scale (for a foamy anyway) Let me know what you guys think. I'm gonna need some encouragement to get this thing going 'cause I've got several other projects I'm working on at the same time.

I just don't know how you folks get the talent to make such fine planes out of Fan Fold!! If you can't get motivated to finish it, just send it my way!! That is going to be one fine plane, good luck with it!

Guys, the above photos are of the balsa version. Fan Fold/Sturdy Board version is on the way. Drawings are being finished up now.

No videos that I know of. Just search the foamy forum. More info in here than any video could ever show.

Wow... that's a really nice F-16! Is there anything over the balsa in those photos? it looks like it's been covered in brown paper bag, but that's a foamie thing right? Oh yes - how'd you make the canopy and nose cone? They look amazin'!

Bare balsa in that photo. It will be glassed with .75oz. glass cloth. The canopy and nose cone are just shaped and sanded blue foam.

All parts so far have been cut with just an exacto knife. No high tech stuff here, just easy cutting sturdy board. Fuselage formers are cut from sturdy board with the paper still on. The paper adds quite a bit of rigidity and makes for nice formers. The fuse will be skinned with sturdy board foam with the paper removed (what a mess). More pics later.
