HET F/A 18 Hornet .....Need Help

After searching for a thread or different types of set ups for this EDF ARF Jet ( HET F/A 18 Hornet ) I was unsuccesful.... Does anyone know of a great Battery - Motor combo to use with the Wemo Mini Fan in this Jet.....? And also does the Wemo Mini get that awesome whistle RPM sound that I heard on an SR 71 thread on here ? Any input needed...

Hi, you want excellent climb rate and great speed, like all edf-nuts here. I had (model-r.i.p. ) a HET-rc 2w (kV4680 c.i.i.w.) and a 3s3200Kokam, 15dgr timing on a Hacker esc HM40-f(bec) and 530W static power.

Handlaunch like anything, although I like bungeeing to gain topspeed in 4sec, go vertical for 6sec, shut down the motor and do some wacky airial ballet on full throws etc etc.....

Love it, will get a new one from Santa I hope. Now 'busy' on the RBC skyray on 4S FlightpowerEVO and the 2w20 which is refered to as the "700W motor>
No test data yet.

No ideabout that magic wishtle or so. I'd say, go get one, plus get a spare one, huhuh

goodluck pal!

{edit} Frits vBreemen says in the "het-rc 700" thread: "Exact KV on the normal 2W is 4951 so it is 170 higher than stated in the
sheet."

I have a Mega 16/15/2 in mine on 3s2p TP 2100's or 3s2p PolyQuest 2200's. Both setups fly this plane really nice. I have a buddy hand launch with great success.

I was running this setup with 9x1950 FAUP NiMH's at first. I clocked it in the mid 70's on this setup and in the mid 80's on the LiPos.

This is a perfect setup for HL. You could substitute the HET-RC 2W motor for the Mega and should get similar results for a bit less money.

This thing is really stable & easy to fly. It practically lands itself. Just give yourself plenty of room as it wants to glide forever.

Good luck,

Mark
