Building GGRN's Airbus A318

Hello to all Airlinerfans,

inspired by GGRN's Airbus A318 ( he was so kind and send my a plan and a magazine with many pictures ) I decided to start with the building of this beauty. I plan to make it in the same way as GGRN (Philippe) powered by two EDF50 with Feigaos (5300) . The special feature of this airliner is the retract LG system and at this point I am now in my project . Please forgive me, but progress will be very slow in future but I hope to finish the project till next spring.

He sent me that as well. It's very cool.

Btw, how much thrust (in oz's) do you expect to get with the two EDF-50's and Feigao
5300's? I may end up going that route on my DC-9 if it feels underpowered.

Thanks

thrust with feigao 5300

1 EDF 50 with 2030x5 rotor, 3cels LiPo and feigao 5300 thrust is about 180 g (6,36 oz, with correct intake ring and exhaust).
With inevitable losses, the expectable total thrust for the A 318 is about 340-350g (12-12,36 oz). If the Airbus weights 650g (23 oz) weight/thrust ratio is about 1,9-1,8. I think it's correct for a liner.

HI Philippe ,

it is funny , as I saw that emergency landing yesterday I thought the same

Please allow me some further questions.
1. Where do you locate the RX and the Lipo's ?
2. Till now I was not able to find the way for the correct working geardoors.
Have you some detailed pictures ?
3. Do you think that a Balsa wingspar is also able instead of the depronspar ?

Philippe since I get the magazines and the plan I have no hour without thinking of that project. I think I am a "Airbusjunky"

Greetings from vienna

Thank you Steve,

my Problem now (and in future) is the limited time for modeling .So I have to realize only the really "bombastic" projects like this airbus a318 from GGRN.
My hope is that in some years my boys are able to help me in building models.

Greetings

Rudi
