ok first things first
thanks guys for TELLING ME THE PARTS JUST SNAP OUT . lol aftr working witha scroll saw, sharpe knife and excato blade, band saw. my friend came over and looked at it. then SNAPPED IT OUT. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. anyway all parts are out in less than 1 hour. and in real good shape. all they needed was a little cleaning up . dont you hate these young guys who just come in and in 5 minutes make you feel sooooo old .
anyway. the tray is done. and the center hull is now out. just needs to be cleaned up. i did notice that the deck is alot wider that the hull. but that could also be , just trimming needed.
the one question i have for all the u47 drivers here. how did you hook up your bow planes. i saw somebody glueing the servo to the top of the wtc. this looks good at first? but what if you need to get access to it?. has anybody thought of making a little wtc in the bow. you can get access to that thought the deck. of thought the bottom hatch?. not sure yet how you would attach it to the reciever.
but the boat is under way now. and with luck . i should have pictures soon
i think 750-800 ml ballast tank should be enough to sink this thing

I installed mine in the front of the WTC...and yea it will be a pain to get at if something goes wrong. Just make sure the setup is bulletproof before installing it :-)

My servo is under the sail/tower and the wire goes through the back end cap via brass through rods glued in and more wire up to the ADC4 at the front of the tray. It works well and the sail comes off easily to get to the mount screws for the servo. I've had it out a few tomes for oring replacement and checking and no worries mate!
As I posted earlier, it's all on my build pages at http://magpieyachts.com/building7.html

Hi.
I am reaching completion of my ROBBE U47.
Only the weathering to do now.
What a great builders model.
I used an Engel tank,Pihrana mech tray,Uboot conning tower and deck set,Homemade watertight enclosure for forward dive plane servo.
I will post further pics of the Mech tray later,as it is much better than the plastic Robbe item.
I allso used the prop shaft seal kit from Uboot, which is 100%watertight.

Thanks for the comments.
I have found info on a website on how to build and fire torps powered with airbrush proppelant, soI am going to fit out the lower tubes.
I will post the results when I have a workins sollution.
Worst part will be cutting open the lower doors in the hull.

How far will the torpedoes shoot and where are you going to get the torpedoes?

I am using ally tube and turned nylon to make my torps.
I have made valves for the firing section at the rear, rather than just ramming a pin into the back ( seems rather hit and miss to me ).
So to open the valve I use a firing pin to push the assembly 2mm forwards.

I am still playing with nozzle sizes , but the valve system works vey well.
I use a woods type valve under the front cover for filling.
