Did it cook off after you ran it while it was on the stand or while it was running? What prop were you using?

The last one I broke ran great and it never smoked or gave any indication of cooking or over heating...until I went to use it again and it wouldn't run...I took it apart and saw nothing wrong. I don't know why it died.

The first one definitely cooked off after a run!

Ok...anybody ever figure out how to best cure cracks between the planking? I have a couple starting to show on the sides up under the bow and now they have paste wax in them. That's how I found them...me eyes are getting worse every day!

Tom, how did you manage to destroy a Titan? I think the Titan in my runabout is a different version than yours. Does yours say 14.4v on it? The cracks in my Runabout have really started to look BAD. A seam on the port side, about two planks down from the deck popped open really bad. You know, I really thought the stain was a little too light for me to begin with and now with this seam problem... I think I might get a new one. I'll probably strip some upgrade stuff off the old one and sell it. I really like these boats and I have to have a good one for the lake!!

Tim, there are actually four "Titan" motors from Traxxas.

23 Turn 14.4V E-Maxx version

19 Turn 14.4V Villain EX version

12 Turn 7.2V Slash version

10 Turn 16.8V E-Revo version and it is a 775 size motor.

I cooked the 12T Titan 7.2V version by using too large a propeller and making it draw too many amps.

Mine works very well with a Electrofly HT-600 on 7.2 and an Octra C.B. same size as the original plastic wheel.

There's really only one good way to cure the cracking problem on the Pro Boat CC; Strip it to the bare wood and lay it up with 2 oz. fiberglass.

When Dumas first went out to develope the RTR CC's they tried everything up to and including glassing the hull. Nothing short of fiberglass solved the cracking problem, but it was so cost prohibitive that they had to scrap the project altogether. Next thing you know, Pro Boat released it in the sub-standard finish that had proven itself not to work over time.

Isn't the Proboat Classic a fiberglass hull? With wood lamination on it?

Which version is the one you have had so much luck with?

I only have a couple of small cracks so far...isn't their something I can put in the crack to stop it from getting worse? I would have to get the wax out of them first.

If I were to strip her completely down...is 2 oz cloth necessary? Wouldn't say 3/4 oz work and not add as much weight?

I have not purchased a 775 motor, it's brand new on the market. All the other Titan motors I have had good luck with. Only just now have I killed a Titan, a 12T and it's the first.

I had a small crack on the starboard side. Drilled a small hole at the crack and flowed thin CA into it. No further problems, My boat is about 4 yrs old and is one of my more dependable boats and that's with the radio it came with.
