The kit is no longer in production but seems quite similar to Graupner“s Libera Ocean see photo. I read that the "horizontal" spread of the sail area with two masts makes for a lower pressure center and higher wind handling capabilities.

Plus points to me-
ready to sail as unfortunately I have little time for building
really beautiful

Might be too scale to sail well
a little on the large size

Joao, I don't think it fits any class and you probably won't want to race. So why worry about it not sailing "well"? I'd think with that kind of boat, success has more to do with how it looks on the water rather than how fast it sails.

Boaters are nice people.
Hi Joao,

Like Martin said, the boat looks stunning.

It will probably sail very good aswell, as it has a winged keel.
Judging from the pictures the Liberia Ocean's keel is slightly deeper, but I don't think it will make much difference, maybe it'll handle a bit less wind.

If you like it, go for it!

And post some pics of her, sailing.

Regards, Jan.

P.S.: and you cįn race her, just join the Open Class here in the Netherlands, several race-day's a year...

Martin, Jan,

Thank you for your advice !

I took today some shots of the water surface available at 15 min distance.

I promise that in a very short time you will see some sails in the picture, Topas or otherwise...

A few boats would make the Mondego even more picturesque

Absolutamente Martin,
Speaking of picturesque, I couldn“t help take a photo of a... fisherperson ? that happened to be there.
Some photos of the model the seller sent me by mail:

Project sailboat update

Thank you all for your help.

Well, I“ve got already two, sailboats but not yet with me.

A friend of a friend had a 1.5 meters long (height 2,5 m??) full racing wonder that I traded for a glider over the phone.

With such a big thing I had to get a portable sailboat, so I got a Micro-Magic from Graupner (total height 1 meter) . It seems that this little fellow sails really well . Jan, Ive been told that there is a kind of craze in several countries with this sailboat, particularly in the Netherlands ...

The Topas will have to wait a little more.

As the following images show, I have already some rescue equipment getting ready !
I will post some images soon

Cheers, Joćo

You can say that again...
Over the past year over 1200 Mocromagics have been sold, Graupner can hardly keep up, they are out of stock regulary.

If I'm not mistaken, over a 1000 sailnumbers have been issued.

As soon as the 1:1 sailingseason draws to an end, the MM winter cup starts, as alot of MM sailors have a 1:1 boat.

Take a look on and for more pictures and info.

I take part in some of the MM wintercup regatta's but don't have a MM of my own, it's too nervous for my likings, I sail a promotion boat in regatta's, great fun as the starting fields can be large.

Regards, Jan.
