Aerocommander Shrike build

well I've finally started building this aerocommander kit. It looks like it's going to go pretty quick. I ordered two Norvel .074s, because I am going to use a larger diameter prop with low pitch. This will keep the idle nice and consistent so I can taxi, and it wont be too overpowered. I'm planning on 1/2A retracts and flaps as well.

I found it on this list. I asked if anyone had one about 2 months ago and 1 guy had one. He sold it for 75.00- I guess that was a steal because there was also one on Ebay that went for 125.00.
I will keep posting as I build.

I've been away from the computer and building table for the last few days- we've had a little vehicle accident in the family and I've been consumed with dealing with insurance companies, etc......... wont be building for a little while.

OK- we're getting some progress. Fuselage going together, and lookie what came in the mail- the 2 Norvels. I think that I'm going to sheet the wing, and install a leading edge as well.

let me introduce you to the Wattage Micro retracts- these things weigh just grams! and they only need a servo with 18 inch/ounce of torque to make them go!!! An HS 55 will put out 18 oz of torque!, but to be sure, an HS 81 will put out 36 oz- more than enough. And the servos weigh in at 16g, or .5 oz weight!. There is enough room in the nacelle for the engine, a 2 oz gas tank, the retract, wheel and a HS 81. It's going to be way overpowered with two norvel .074s.
