A flying buddy's F-20 after 90 degrees 100Mph dive, strait into a pile of construction waste with a wonderful mixture of concrete, iron and some rocks. Man, that hurts!

Julez: thats a rather unique crash - I have seen a few "impalings", but thats a doosie. The Dr1 doesn't seem to badly damaged although you never can tell till you open them up. Thanks for posting.

Ohadvr: the best thing about a crash like that is you don't have to agonise over whether to rebuild or not. Although..... that tail plane dose not look too bad

I have seen some comment on another thread about the demise of the Zero in the vid at post #776 - after probably years of work and US$22,000 to build, the general consensus was that the pilot took off with the ailerons reversed. Arrragh.

I am happy to report I haven't had much reason to post any pics here.

Untill recently. I finally maidened my hand-me-down-converted-to-sloper GWS P51Mustang. 10 minutes of bliss... Then a slight *bump* from a Moth48. Followed by an explosion of bits of GWS foam....

Here's my before and after... I built this corsair with retracts. Unfortunately, I didn't sufficiently reinforce the wing around the areas I cut out for the wheels... High speed dive, quick pullout, *snap* *snap* - the sound of both wings breaking off - total lawn dart.

Very sad, bsoder--that looked like a nice Corsair!

Hey, if I wasn't willing to crash them I'd be building in plasic, and hanging them from my son's ceiling.

The retracts never did work right, I actually only got one flight where they worked correctly from beginning to end. By the time I crashed it, I'd already ripped the retracts off (AGAIN) and was belly landing it anyway.

It was fun while it lasted tho.
