Dick Sarpolus/Gamma Star Models 1/2A Class C/L kits

I am very pleased to announce that my company, Gamma Star Models or GSM at www.gammastarmodels.com, and Mr. Dick Sarpolus, the extremely well known and respected designer and builder for many years in both the RC and C/L field of plane modeling: have joined forces to bring affordable 1/2A Class foam/electric kits to the market.
Our first kit is Dick's EDGE 540T that was introduced this last year. There are more Sarpolus designed planes in the pipeline that will be made available just after they are introduced to the public in current modeling magazines.
The EDGE 540T can be successfully powered with either brushless inrunner/geared power or brushless outrunner power on lines lengths running from 35' to 42'.
As far as "how good are the planes": Mr. Bob Hunt, past World Champian Stunt C/L Pilot and present editor of Model Aviation magazine, has flown all three planes with both inrunner and outrunner power systems and could not find a maneuver that the planes could not execute with great authority. In short --he loves them.
GSM has also located, and is testing, much lower cost motors of both inrunner and outrunner styles, and will be making these brushless motors available in the near future. They wil be controlled by a new 30 amp ESC (w BEC) that will sell for much less that anything else on the market.
Also, for those that like to wind your own motor, I have been working with Mr. John Rutter, of Speed 400 conversion fame (John writes for "Quiet & Electric FLight" magazine in England) and we have developed a 2-stator brushless outrunner motor that develops in excess of 300 watts, although it's "happy area" is in the 225 - 260 watt area. John's brushless 4-stator conversion motor has been developed to a point where it produces 500 watts of usuable power and the parts only cost the equivalent of $40.00. GSM will be making these DIY outrunner motor kits available and is considering custom winding outrunner motors for customers at specific power levels if the customer requests it.
As we progress in our testing, we entend to make available 2 separate types of complete kits. The first type will be the complete airplane kits that contain everything needed (minus adhesive) to construct the plane; and is intended for the 1/2A C/L flyer that already has a lot of the gear needed to fly 1/2A C/L . The second kit will contain all of the extra gear needed to successfully fly the plane. This is aimed at the person that wants to start from scratch; but doesn't want to look all over to find the necessary pieces -- we've done the searching for that person. That person will have one stop shopping.
All three planes have exhibited that they can be used as trainers, and yet can be used for compatition flying -- the designs are that good.
Any and all comments are appreciated as the previous and ongoing responces we've already received from our 3D acrobatic field customers has helped established GSM as a company that not only produces a fine line of planes at extremely reasonable prices, but also has the reputation of backing up the customer with support when needed for as long as is needed -- at no cost.
We will offer the same support policy to our new C/L customers.
With people such as Dick Sarpolus, Bob Hunt, and John Rutter available; we feel that we are unique in that we will be able to give you the best and proper information about our products from the very best sources.
Please feel free to contact me through Gamma Star Models by email, or by phone.
Thank you and I hope to hear from you,
Scott McKie -- Gamma Star Models
