Yippee!

So, you want videos... well take a look at this!

This is a video that we shot earlier in the year. It was posted in the sailplanes forum earlier, but I don't think we put it up here yet.

The video is of a 5m Lunak electrified glider, and shows footage taken from various angles on the plane, and also from the ground (interesting to follow this bird with a camera from the ground I can tell you!).

Airborne video was taken using a 600mW BWAV 'Brown Bag' kit, with the camera velcroed to the wing (amazing that it stayed there really).

Two links are available, high and medium resolution:
http://www.marzer.com/~cmpg2/didier/Lunak_High.wmv
http://www.marzer.com/~cmpg2/didier/Lunak_Med.wmv

We also had a GPS on the plane, and fed the position/speed, etc. down the audio channel of the link. I'll dig out some of the data from it and post it here later.

oh, yes, it was a horse racing field, which unfortunately is now being modified to add a bloody golf course in the middle and is no longer available to us flyers.
The video was taken on the last day, as a kind of memorial :-(

Gliders make great video platforms. The long wings make for a smooth roll axis that makes for good video. Here is another rear-facing glider shot, but a pure glider on a winch tow. See if you can spot the parachute heading home at the end of the launch.
