my Depron-HIPERBIPE / free download plan
From now on the free download plan for my HIPERBIPE is available here:
KLICK HERE FOR THE PDF FILE You might also find it via the website of flugmodell-magazin.de https://www.flugmodell-magazin.de/do...pe-aus-depron/ click the button "download" there. Some specs of the plane: wingspan 1,10 m (43,3 in) AUW between 700 and 800 g (25 - 28 oz) best to be powered with a 60 g BL (2,1 oz) and a slow rpm/v of 750. Then you can use a nice and big 12x6" APC slowfly airscrew. For faster turning motors it's necessary to use smaller props. The battery is a 3 cell LiPo 1500 mAh, which gives up to 10 minutes of flight time. So a 1000 mAh LiPo could be the downsize limit, and the battery compartment can hold up to 1800 mAh. More is really not necessary. The HIPERBIPE is a very good aerobatic performer, while the most impressive thing is its really slow speed. As a disadvantage, it's not suited too well for windy conditions. I've got two similar videos here. One was the early announcement without speaking:
...and the second is published by the magazine FlugModell. I'm talking a bit about the airplane - of course in German, so I'm sorry if you don't understand too much. ![]()
Enjoy! Best regards, Hilmar. |

How do you get those videos ?
The camera does NOT appear to be attached to the plane. Very tricky ! |

The equipment is no secret:
I use the Insta 360 ONE X2 for all shots where I'm in the picture. That gives me the possibility to render the shots in the direction I want afterwards . That's a perfect solution for the problem of never having a camera person with me. On the downside, it does mean double the work for me: acting and directing the camera later. As the 360°-cam is very wide-angled, it's better to shoot flying scenes from a perspector's view with a cellphone. I mount it to my forehead using a lightweight DIY headband: the KOPPcam. It does need a bit of practice to keep the moving airplane in the center by moving the head AND keeping it level. Mostly we move just our eyes and keep the neck as stiff as possible. That's not how it works... but well, a little bit of correcting the frame can be done in the editing software later. Onboard-scenes put a great spice into the videos, so I decided to check out the Insta 360 Go 2. The weight-to-quality-realtion is perfect, as the cam only weighs 30 grams. I built myself a very lightweight mount for this cam, so I can easily tape it anywhere to the plane. Don't forget counter weights! I use sticky tire balance weights, which come in gradiations of 5 g. Both the ONE X2 and the GO 2 use the same software, where the magic of the perfect image stabilisation happens. Especially talking about the GO 2: you can choose afterwards, if the horizon stays level, or if the camera is the fixed point of view. I mostly go for the fixed horizon, which seems to give the onboard clips a very interesting look. |

OK that fixed horizon option s what interested me the most.
Is it JUST PC-side video software or is there some gyro in the camera. Whatever I was amazed at the Depth and clarity. ! Wow |

The GO 2 has a square shaped sensor. The software later picks the part out of that recorded area which you want to see. So it's possible with the same recorded clip to render it in different ways afterwards. Landscape, portrait, image stabilization - whatever you want.
Talking about rendering later: recently I recorded a short scene with my 360 ONE X2 and showed in a YT video that you can tell different stories by changing the point of view:

Downloaded as soon as it came out. Depron ordered (£97, very expensive here incl p & p). Motor coming from Banggood, same specs as Roxxy but for £12. I need to order some dowel in and I'll be ready to go.
It's a bit more complicated than my normal builds, mainly the addition of the balsa parts and their shapes. It won't be a fast build. I spent a couple of hours going through the 43 sheets, taping and putting some translation notes in where needed. A lot has been done to be fare but Google translate is my new best friend at the minute. It's bigger than I imagined, the fuselage is huge. Looking forward to it when all my bits arrive. Tony |

My cockpit windows are made of 0,15 mm hard-PVC foil, which I have in stock for vacuum forming. Any other material is certainly welcome, but don't choose it too thick as this will add a significant amount of weight.
I tested darkening it with tinting sprays for automobiles, but it peeled off, and the spray didn't look quite even. The perfect solution is sticky tinting film, which you use for darkening car windows. first cover the complete film with the tinting film. I liked it best when the tinting film is on the inside. Then you stick on the white adhesive film pane frames. Finally, the pieces are cut out and glued in place. |

I have created several files in the "Studio" format that you need if you own a "Silhouette Studio" cutting plotter. This makes it super easy to successfully create the cool "MAKO"-shark design.
There is also an instruction PDF that makes it much easier to apply the stickers. Here are two related links: - a complete ZIP-file, including all cutting plot data as well as the instruction PDF - only the instruction PDF if someone just wants to read through it quickly. ...unfortunately I get an error when downloading the ZIP file using the link as shown above, although the link is correct. It's probably because of the forum software, but I don't know. If you also have problems, you could download the file directly from my website: http://www.lange-flugzeit.de/?post_t...ication&p=2105 the link is related to the text passage "Alle dafür zum Einsatz kommenden Dateien sind nach Farben sortiert in dieser ZIP als Studio-Dateien zusammengefasst". Best regards, Hilmar. |
