Micro Tensor 3D

I just completed this new 11 inch span Micro Tensor 3D biplane. The Model is all balsa and uses the new Mighty Midget Double Whopper Motor available from Bob Selman. I airbrushed the model with acrylic paint. I am using the Penta receiver and Didel GD servos. The model weighs 42 grams complete with 2-145 Li-poly cells. I put two test flights on the model and it has great performance with this new motor.

JoeMal is the famous Joe Mallanchak, who builds very nice micro scale planes (and larger scale planes too). Lately, it seems, he has been building some scale models of RC models like this Tensor. He also built a scale model of the Plantraco Butterfly. He lives in Pennsylvania and will be at NEAT this year, where he will be flying some of his micro planes at the Indoor Night at NEAT, as well as outdoors too.

Is there a U.S. supplier for the Penta Receiver?

Dave Lewis at HomeFly carries the Penta. Note that the Penta does not have the micro JST plugs that most micro servos use. I have a Penta and what is required is soldering the wires yourself to pads on the RX. There are common ground and positive pads that all servos' positive and negative power leads are soldered to, and then each servo's signal wire (white) gets soldered to its own pad. I also have a JMP servo receiver and it comes with JST plugs built in. You simply plug the servos in and are done with it. There are other micro RX's with JST Plugs: the MPS, DU, Blue Arrow, and GWS R4P (with JST plugs). Some care has to be taken as a few of the RX's use reversed power and ground wires compared to what WesTechnik decided on when they pioneeered the use of JST plugs for micro servos some years ago.

Thanks Gordon! Does the Penta come with an adequate schematic or instructions to make the soldering obvious?
