For Sale: Pretty Unbelievable 12V Power Supplies for Chargers

Every once in a while, I hear that guys are looking for a high power, bench top power supplies to use to power chargers and other stuff. So check this:

I have a buddy that has a few each of these killer 12V power supplies for sale:

One is dual channel 65 amps/channel (total 130 amps).
(PowerOne Model SPM5B2B2KH)
Data here:

One is single channel 83 amps.
(Unipower model JN3000-F)
Data here:

Both are 115/220 VAC input and he wants $99/each including shipping conus.

Any takers?

I'm sure someone will bite. I know Dr Kiwi(Phil) has been looking
for something like this if they can hold good voltage at high
amp draws.

As for me, I only bench test with packs so I know what the heck
will actually happen in the air.

I need another power supply like a hole in my head, but they sound interesting. Google will not give me anything for either PowerOne Model SPM5B2B2KH or Unipower model JN3000-F.

Any link to an informative site?

Are these fixed at 12V or adjustable?

I have enough power supplies for driving chargers, but a higher-current one that could be used in lieu of a battery for some bench testing could be interesting....

How heavy are these things? Can the twin-channel be paralleled for full 130A into my ESC?

There were more than 2 to start with, (I think about 7 total) and I don't know how many are left as I write this. I also am not familiar enough with them to answer your questions properly.

The best way to get your questions answered, or to purchase a supply is to contact my friend Roger directly by email. His address is:

I've been to Roger's store in Longmont, CO and he has a ton of electrical stuff. Also he's a super nice guy! IIRC the power supplies in question are about 12"x10"x8".

For all interested parties - I hope these supplies have "clean" output...

What do you mean by "clean." Please be specific. What ripple voltage, under what loading conditions would you find objectionable and too "dirty" for what type of equipment? Please be specific about the equipment type, manufacturer and model number which might not operate with said "dirt" on the DC supply. Please also specific the ripple frequencies that you find alarming as well. When you specify the ripple frequency of concern, please state the noise density in dBm that you would find unsatisfactory. I'm sure Roger can find something that meets your criteria.

Thank you,

Thanks , I have all I need, just wanted to remind people that there may be power supplies that provide very crude 12DC, similar to old school commercial big lead battery chargers etc... These would be not suitable to power hobby chargers.

These are not one of them, thank you.
