Tiger Moth---how Much Wind????

I'm Thinking About Getting A Gws Tiger Moth With The Ips Dx2bb-axcs. Is This Strickly An Indoor Or Can It Be Flown Outdoors As Well? I Fly Very Early In The Morning And Winds Are Normally 0-5 Or 0-8 Mph. If This Tiger Moth Can Be Flown Outdoors How Much Wind Can It Handle?

The higher your skill level the higher the wind it can handle up to 5-10MPH, than landing becomes a problem.

After lots of searching and reading for a good first plane, it came down to the Tiger Moth and Slow Stick. I got the SS for durability for my 1st plane.

Then I got FMS. I'm so glad I did, it helped a lot!

Then I got the TM. I added some iron on CF tape ( CA'ed on ) in the wing saddles and around the holes for the wing dowels so they wouldn't tear thru the foam. I did the CF tube mod for the landing gear slots and glued 1/64" ply to the wing struts. I used probond for most of the construction to save on weight.

I used un-waxed floss for the flying wires. That helps when flying in wind. I actually like it in 3-4 mph wind better than dead calm. It climbs better with a light breeze but wind gusts make it a little tricky when landing. As long as it isn't gusty, it flys great in a lite breeze.

Without flying wires the wings flex too much and it isn't as steady.

I know the pilot goes in the back seat but I put the servos there.

Tiger Moth - $50 CL 2/3
Tiger moth Complete Package incl. radio - $150
(need battery charger)
Best flown in still to under 5 mph breeze.
This is an excellent choice for people who have a smaller space to fly. Can
also be flown indoors in a gym or similar space. Cool looking little plane.
