Pilots, the Louisville Area Soaring Society (LASS) in conjunction with Hardin County RC

Modelers will be hosting an F5J Tour Sanctioned Event. The contest will be held at the

Hardin County RC field at 400 Rucker Lane in Elizabethtown, KY (Lat 37.694817, Lon. -85.797054).

-Friday the field will be open for practice. Saturday May 14 pilots meeting at 8:00 with first

round beginning at 8:30 am. We plan to fly 7-8 rounds with a drop after 4 rounds on Saturday.

On Sunday May 15th, pilots meeting at 8 am with flying of 3 rounds followed by a lunch break,

then plan to fly additional rounds with no new rounds starting after 2pm. Should be completed by 3pm. There will be NO Flyoffs.

-Lunch will be served both days.

-The flying site does not permit overnight camping but there are several RV and tent sites

nearby (Elizabethtown Crossroads Campground- full service ,Glendale Campground-RV only,

Field and Forest on Prayer Mountain, and Newton’s Nook- both primitive).

-There are numerous chain hotels within 10 minutes (Super 8 and Days Inn have had lowest

rates) as well as chain and local restaurants.

-Additional sites of interest include nearby distillery tours on Kentucky’s Bourbon Trail (I can

recommend Maker’s Mark), My Old Kentucky Home, Mammoth Cave National Park, and the

Corvette Museum.

-We will be following published F5J rules per the F5J Tour site and you must have an

approved limiter as listed on the F5J Tour site.

- Marc Marcum and Gil Perez will be acting as CD’s. The cost is $60 and includes lunches

and bottled water.

planning to attend. We currently have 23 pilots confirmed but are trying to reach 30 plus.

Wow! Thirty pilots registered from 8 states already and still 3 1/2 months to the contest. If you plan to attend this contest I would go ahead and register as the absolute max number of pilots that can be accommodated is 44. Thanks to those already registered. Marc

Hey Pilots! Only 2 months to go before this great event and it's all beginning to finalize. We have received the fantastic awards. Yesterday we ran a test contest using our 3 wireless timing boards and 8 wireless speakers with everything working well. We have 13 new landing tapes ready to go. Currently we have signed up 32 pilots from 7 states, including 4 of last seasons top 15 pilots nationally. All we really need are a few more pilots to fill out the field and test your skills against the best.
