Wattage B-2 motors on 7 cells?

We have a fun thread going over in Foamies about converting a FF molded foam N9M flying wing into an R/C model. (23" span, 100 sq in)

I'm getting pretty good park flyer-like results with two Wattage B-2 motors (not loose generic N-20 motors) and the stock black props and a 6 cell 150 mah Nicad.

What kind of luck and motor longevity have people had when using the B-2 motors on 7 cell nicad packs? (again, 150 N type nicads)

What about a better prop? I got some of the orange B-2 replacement props to try, as well.
Would U-80s be a better choice?

I am running U-80's on the B-2. They are much quieter than the original but they do load up the motors. I have not run 7-cell Nicads, just 6-cell Nicads and 7-cell NiMHs.

I burned up two of the B-2 motors on my B-36 using 7 cells and U-80 props. Back to 6 cells now. Also burned up four B-2 motors on my C-130 using 6 cells and U-80 props. Have yet to burn up the B-2 motors in my B-2 using 6 cells and the stock props. Guess I've been working those poor little motors too hard in the other two planes.

Hmmm...interesting.

But, I can see where the greater load of the U-80 props AND 7 cells might be bad. My B-2 motors are not even warm on 6 cells.

I was talking 7 cells and the old, stock B-2 props. I got one yes vote from Paul Willenborg, so far.

Are you getting better performance on 6 cells with U-80 props?

why dont you trim a little plastic off the u-80's, so that you can run 7 cells with the u-80's
