Are there ESC`s out there that can handle 4 servo`s?

will a 20 or 25 AMP esc do then trick? Maybe a pixie 20 or a 25 from castle creations (Yes i know a pixie is from them too)

Some of the Shultze escs have a BEC stated as being capable of handling four servos, rather than the two or three of some other speed controllers. They have a neat little table which lists the typical current draw of some servo types and which of their ESCs are suitable for how many servos.

I don't know who supplies Shultze in the USA, but in the UK you can get them from Gordon Tarling.

Hope this is of interest.

Hi kushal_2,

I believe you'll be ok with a Pixie 20. I ran one for a brief time with 4 HS-50s. Supposedly the smaller servos draw more amps than larger ones. They rate it at 1.25 A. I measured two HS-50s at 0.24 A for both. I had one each on the elevator and rudder and wiggled both sticks at the same time.

Basket case has flown the same setup longer than I have. I haven't heard him complain of problems.

From what I can see most ESC makers are VERY conservative in rating them for servos.

Typically the servo will draw more under load such as wind load on the control surface.....I wonder what those servos draw under flight conditions ?

Surprisingly enough when I held the control surfaces firmly, almost to the point of stalling the current draw was the same. I measured them with a Mini Whatt meter. This was discussed some months ago and another person who measured his reported the same anomaly.

Have been using a GWS 400 ESC with heat sink, 15-20 amp rating in a GWS Zero, 3 nano and 1 HS-81 on retracts, on 8 cell nicads, no problems. An optional heat sink is included with the ESC, all for $30.
Aeromicro has them.

I believe all of the Kontronic Sun series have a 2amp BEC, and are rated for 4 servos on up to 10 cells.
