Hirobo Paraplane Sport

Hi @all,

i found the Wing of an Hirobo Paraplane Sport.
But itīs only the Wing...

My Idea is to bring him "Back to Life"....

So i start to create a new Trike for it.
The Main Difference to my other Paramotor is, that he donīt have this "Brake Lines".
The Control works by a Tilt-Bar.

Luckily i find some Pictures and Details in the Internet, and i have a good Base to start....

What i use at the Moment is following:
3s 2.200 mAh Battery
Roxxy 2827-26 BL-Motor
8 x 4,3 SF-Prop
25A Hobbywing ESC
1 Emax Servo ES 3005 (MG , 42Gr. , 12Kg)

I measure the Motor on my Test-Bed and he provides 662 Gramm Thrust at 14A and 11,7 V
I hope thatīs enough....
Main Issue is, that the Prop is limited to 8" Diameter, because i could not Print a bigger Prop-Ring.

The Tilt-Bar is a 4mm Cfk-Tube that should be strong enough.

Then i start to create the Trike for it.
All Parts are print in PETG, but not the Pilot. Heīs made from LW-PLA.

The total Weight of the Trike, incl. Battery, is 722 Gramm.
When I hold it at the Lines of the Wing, and do right and left, it seems that the Servo has no Problem with the Load.

Just wait for nice Weather and letīs try
Best Regards, Juergen

That is a great looking project ...... but you may want to think about something a little more rigid for the prop guard...because they can take a bit of bashing. something like a wire clothes hanger, comes to mind.
Happy Landings

Hi Chris,

Yes, you are right.
Maybe the Propguard is a bit weak...
I hope that he is the "intended breaking Point" in the Frame (translated by Google...Sollbruchstelle )

The Propguard is easy to replace and when he breaks, i think/hope that he takes most kinetic Energy from the Frame...
Thatīs the Idea, but absolutely not sure if it works

Best Regards,

I had a printed prop guard and it just shattered at the lightest flex...but lets hope you are a little more lucky.

Success...

Hello @all,

Yesterday the Weather was fine. Sunny and a light Wind from South, around 2-3 Bft.
So i decide to Test the Old Hirobo Wing.

What should i say.....Iīm shocked how easy and perfect heīs flying .

Our Grass on the Field is a bit high at the Moment, so i made a Hand-Launch.
A Shame that itīs not on the Video, because it was so funny...
Directly after Start, he goes slowly downward because i donīt have full Throttle in.
After 5 Meters, he made a nice and soft Touchdown with the Trike....I gave full Throttle AND:
He rolls 2 Meters and goes up in the Sky !!!

Absolutely Easy and Uncritical
I had a smile on my Face, from one Ear to the Other !

Then my Colleague was back and took a Short Video from Flying and some Pictures with his Mobile.
The Video is here:
http://www.helimodell.de/trike/Hirobo-Maiden.mp4

I could give some more Way to the Servo of the Tilt-Bar, but only a little (40% actually).
Then the Turns will come a bit better.

Itīs not possible to make Loops or something like that. Not enough Power....
But nice Climbing at Full Throttle and "cruising" at appr. 50%.

Also the Landing was totally easy.
Slowly against the Wind, and he comes down without any Problem.

I hope that i could provide a better Video next Time, that also includes Start and Landing

Best regards,
Juergen
