In a similar vein, I wonder about compatibility of the Tandem module.

Will it be supported by OpenTx? Or, will it be EthOS-only, in which case it would be compatible with only a limited set of FrSky radios. I hope for the former so I can try Tandem on my QX7.

I don't think it has anything to do with either Open Tx or Ethos, since its not a transmitter but a receiver

I personally will not buy a TD receiver with gyro, so I hope if gyro versions are introduced non gyro versions are still available like R10 and SR10 and so on. That way everyone is happy.

I hope they do for whomever would like it but I personally would not need it .The only one I would like is the TD MX since I already have the RB 30 and the ARsmooth flite 16

The problem with Frsky isn't ELRS or MPM (which any transmitter can do with an external module) but ELRS AND MPM which transmitters without internal ELRS or internal MPM can't do. Unless the internal module is modular and replacable (without having to disassemble the transmitter- slide it in from the top idiots!) as well as the external. Now THAT would be a real innovation!

Ethos is the firmware , has nothing to do with the frequencies of 2.4 and 900, the receiver is access

My understanding is that there will be a requirement for Tandem transmitter hardware. At the moment, that would limit use of Tandem receivers to the X20.

A Tandem transmitter module is referred to on the FrSky Website. Details are scarce. A report suggests that the module will not be compatible with Taranis radios. Whether it will be compatible with the X10, the X12, or OTX hasn't been revealed that I've seen.
