AS3X programming via computer app

I was under the impression that the only way to program an AS3X receiver (AR636 in this case) was through forward programming from the transmitter.

On another forum, a user was saying he set the orientation of the receiver via a PC but that the gyro is not behaving based on the orientation he set.

In his case he has mounted the receiving upside down (which is fine), but his plane will only initialize on the bench when the plane is inverted. If he powers up the system with the plane upright, the receiver does not initialize.

Many responded that it sounds like the orientation is set wrong. But this person insists that he set the orientation via a PC.

Is there a PC app to do orientation and other AS3X settings?

Yes. There is Spektrum Programming Software on the Spektrum site. You will also need a programming cable, which can be ordered from Horizon Hobby (needed to connect the receiver to the CPU USB port).
