Pylon/hotliner stores in Europe?

I´ve recently crashed my MiniHawk aka Reverb aka e-Wasp (on first battery of first day after years of collecting dust ) and need a replacement, but I´ve been out of the airplane world for some years as I did focus on racing drones and HD FPV flying and now I´m completely outdated, for example I see FVK dissapeared wich was a shock to me as the Kamelot was one of my favourites

Replacing the MiniHawk is quite difficult as there´s no other airframe wich can be flown both pylon and hotliner style for $200, and with an unbreakable wing wich resist a snap rolls or square loops at high speed.

But the task becomes even more difficult when you´re in Europe, as there´s almost no shops here. My first idea was, ok if I find the correct one I will pay double or even more for a similar plane, but the problem is I can´t find anything similar at any price in Europe. The only option I see is an Avionik or a RW, but they´re on a different league, competition planes and I only want a sport plane, not the fastest ship out there, and need a tough one wich resist landings on rough surfaces, not the lightest airframe to get the highest possible speed.

Add to that I´ve been out of the hobby for some years so I don´t know what are current stores and I´ve run out of options so fast it´s frustrating.

Do I really have no options to replace my MiniHawk? If so, what will be the closest match?

As I found out when I wrecked my Reverb, there's very little available, Hyperflight is probably your best best, https://www.hyperflight.co.uk/produc...t=Pylon+Racers . Maybe they can tell you if they are getting more Jolts back in stock?

There's the Escape pylon racer but it's only 1m wing https://www.jiri-model.cz/escape/ and the newer 1100mm pylon Escape 2 https://f3x.mypage.cz/menu/pylon-escape-verze-2 . I bought the larger Escape 2 as a replacement for my Reverb but I preferred the Reverb. I tried a few motors in the Escape 2, a Mega 16-35-2 but it was a bit nose heavy, then tried a Mega 16 EDF motor but that was a bit light. The recommended Mega 16-25 or maybe a 16-30 would be better.

Or the HJK LP1, but again only 1m, http://www.hjk-speedwings.de/epages/...20SpreadTow%22

Best bet would be to try and source an old Avionk F5D that isn't being used, with the lack of racing over the last few years maybe some of the F5D guys who did the international racing have stuff not longer needed. RC Network.de might be somewhere to look, or maybe a certain social media app has some groups you could post a wanted add in?

Thank you feefo

Problem with smaller pylons is my mega 16-40-1.5 will probably be too much... I should check if it survived tough, looks ok but since the esc was totalled I couldn´t check it, and don´t have the mood to start desoldering and soldering yet

Edit: didn´t know HJK, the LP1 is just 1m, but the X1.1 is 1.4m

http://www.hjk-speedwings.de/epages/...20SpreadTow%22

More expensive tough, not sure if would be worth for same price than an Avionik. Any reference of HJK planes?

HJK planes need a bit more assembly IIRC, there's some threads in the High Performance section if you search.

The Jolt will take the 16-40 easily enough, I use a 16-40-2 in a Swist and I bet it'd fit and balance fine in an Avionik too. If your motor is damaged then return it to Mega and they can repair it, or you could have a different wind motor or shaft size fitted, maybe get a KPG gearbox fitted, plenty of options.

I looked at the PILF 1.1 but ended up ordering an X Plus from Yuri, I run it on a geared motor hotliner style but the airframe can be used direct drive.

Man, I love raw carbon fiber. But without any paint that sticker can´t be enough to avoid confusions in flight

Thanks for the video BlueWS. BTW, I guess your location is a joke, right?

I don´t mind some building, actually to me that´s not considered building, I´m of those who 20 years back built balsa planes from scratch for around 6-8 months. This is not building, this is just some final assembling

You ordered from Yuri? How much was the shipping? I also did consider the X-Plus but an expensive plane from the states can get pricey if you add shipping and customs

My mega with a kpg.... that will turn a big prop for sure... will think about that. I like going step by step so maybe one of those rocketships with my mega until I get used to it, then upgrading to something more powerful. I guess if I put a kpg and a bigger battery (now using 1500 4s 100C for 1.5kW) the difference will be noticeable.

Robbe have some sport pylon and hotliner models that are available in many stores in Europe. I don't have any experience with them myself, but they look like good sport model offerings. I think you'll find threads on the Limit PRO and Amplitude here on RCG.

Rat at 1.3 meters: https://www.robbe.com/en/Airplanes/A...LON-MODEL/2635

Limit PRO at 1.7 meters: https://www.robbe.com/en/AIRPLANES/M...L-GRP-CRP/2642

Amplitude at 1.8 meters: https://www.robbe.com/en/AIRPLANES/M...-HOTLINER/2637

There may not be many specialized stores for that type of models in Europe, but most of the manufacturers of all-moulded planes are in Europe ! So buying direct is an option you should consider.

If I'm not mistaken, the Reverb is a 1.2m airframe...I assume you're talking about the F5D line-up in the Avionik range, not the F5B ones ? the Avionik Dxx seem to be a popular choice indeed...you could also consider other F5D airframes: I do not know if Stratair still offers it but they used to have the Demon F5D for sale...the Jibe may also still be manufactured ?

Leomotion seems to stock the Avionik Dxx range https://www.leomotion.com/ki/en/Cont...&kat_last=5380

Another option could be to look for a 2nd hand Reverb or F5D airframe....there are regularly some for sale on RC-Network.de

About Robbe frames, I´m not sure but I feel they would be a step backwards compared to my MiniHawk

I like the Jibe 2 very much, but as usual, I can´t find it in Europe, if you know any site please share

The only options I´ve found in Europe are an Avionik D17/18 or a HJK Pilf X1.1. Both are much better airframes than I had initially planned, but I guess that would be a minor problem

But I´m not sure if those are a good match for my needs. I don´t need a competition aiframe nor a record breaker, just a fast ship wich can be flown both pilon and hotliner style and can handle some serious abuse, both flying and landing in rough runways. Not much grass around here, I´m so jealaous of all those videos with almost infinite grass fields

Thanks all for the help
