1/18 Chevrolet K10 with hardbody by FMS

Hi,
something cool coming:

FMS Chevrolet K10
Wheelbase 196 mm
323.8 x 139 x 130.7mm
Ground Clearance 37.7 mm

Check the video:

FMS 1/18 CHEVROLET K10 雪佛蘭 皮卡 (1 min 44 sec)

Price quite spicy, at least in EU, we will see how much it will finally cost on BG, Ali or in the US, probably distributed by Horizon:

It's a 1977-1978 model, according to the grille.

Pretty neat, not sure I'm pro or con on the scale though. I guess 1/18 is here to stay {assuming it really is 1/18}... . . .

I guess the smaller scales of these Asian trucks makes them cheaper to produce which equates to a cheaper selling price. Here in the West we're used to 1/10 scale and larger since those are the scales we've had since the beginning of RC vehicles. Plus, most Westerners have sausage fingers so building and operating a larger RC is easier. Lol.

I do prefer a true scale 1/20 for the overall size and how they get around being a larger "micro", while still looking good on 1.0" wheels and tires, but a true to scale 1/18 as a smaller "mini" really does scale out best with the available tires and wheels. So far the 1/18 hardboiles by various brands seem to be pretty accurate as far as scale size.

The body looks nice and the trend is very exciting. My only gripe with the smaller crawlers is the "whiney" motor / gearbox setup. Even the 1:12 Willys sounds like it came from the toy store. Brushless or quieter options needed.

Generally speaking that's just the cheap China ESC. Usually a better ESC makes it much more quiet. The ESC in the FJ Cruiser seems much smoother and more quiet than most micro RTRs. I believe Donaldsneff mentioned in one of his videos it's the same ESE used in the 1/12 willys

After a long time this seem to be the very first metal upgrade (oil?) shocks for those 1/18 Models by FMS, RocHobby, EazyRC, Hobby Plus (but the expensive red Hobby Plus metal upgrade shocks):

And the Chevy after a long time, which super delay, available from BG:

We get it, there's new shocks on the marketplace. Once or twice was enough. Spam anyone?

From what I have seen, the factory plastic shock/spring units, aren't that bad. As a "pebble" in 1/18, would be like driving over a curb!
I have owned several full size 2wd, and 4wd pickups, and without HD off-road shocks, they bounce and rock around badly, when taken off the street.
Especially, GM products with the factory Delco shocks.

Tune the stock shocks is not very difficult.

I love those tuned shocks, work very well:

I think the first thing that really needs upgrading, would be the driveshafts!!!

** As the rear one in perticular, is bent/worped, and has some serious runout at mid shaft.

*Some misc. info for the K-10 and Toyota trucks....

1, I found the tires and wheels supplied on the SCX24, B-17 Betty, work real well on the K-10. As they are stiffer, and have a much more aggressive tread.
2, for replacement wheel nuts, the M2.5 nylock nuts by Arrma, (part # AR715008) match the original, and seam to fit fine.
