Sebart 2m Zeus BiPlane Trailer Trash build
Hello all!
I have recently taken a Job that has forced me to live in a Trailer for the foreseeable future. With that I have acquired this Sebart Zeus Biplane from Neil at Sebart USA which will be my first instalment of my "Trailer Trash" build series! I will also continue with the finishing of the NeoStage Bipe as well as my Proteus Bipe. I met Neil on Sunday to pick up the crate. I cannot express enough on how nice of a guy Neil is! We have spoke via phone and email in the past, but it's hard to really gauge a person until you meet the in person. I encourage all of you to do business with Sebart USA for your next project! Equipment Servos- Futaba BLS 173's on aileron and elevator Futaba BLS 171 on rudder Motor- Plettenberg 30-10 Speed - D3 or Jetti (undecided) control Unboxing Unboxing of the plane was uneventful and all contents were in excellent shape and of excellent quality, which IMO Sebart has some of the best quality offerings out there. I inventoried all of the parts and mocked up the plane as you can see in the Pics, everything fit as it should. Surfaces All of the control surfaces with the exception of the rudder are CA style hinges and the rudder is Robart style pin hinges. I will most likely drill out the center on the pin hinges and use carbon rod or piano wire to hold the hinges together so that the rudder is removable. -Elevator I glued the CA hinges in and drilled the hole through the stab tube for attaching the stab to the tube. I will have to open up the elevator servo mounting holes to accommodate the BLS 173's, pictures to follow tonight. |

Elevator servo install. I had to open up the hole for the servo, no big deal with my handy permagrit sanding tools!

Lately I've been thinking about the flexibility of being able to make my home anywhere. I suspect I'd have to settle for something a bit more minimalistic however. They don't make many trailers that can be pulled by a plain old sedan either. At least nothing that you can actually stand up in. Well, there are pop-ups, but I need more than fabric between me and the outside world.
