Exterior segment of wing repair

Until I will receive spare parts for the repair from hoelleinshop, because it's rainy weather, I thought I'd prepare the wing.

The operation was completely successful. I will continue when the parts arrive.

Today I received the requested spare parts from hoelleinshop. They came after 10 working days, as they promised.

That's why I love this glider so much. The possibility to order spare parts when necessary was a strong argument in choosing this glider, plus the excellent references.

I have been flying this glider since 2022. So far I have had 470 flights with it. Since this year I have an excel record, the recordings made by Altis Nano and Altis GPS. For example, this year I stayed in the air with this glider for 7 hours, 12 minutes, 48 seconds. Just a personal record, in which I hope to see any progress.

For flying with "Introduction F5J"

Nice repair !!! i like the idea on the images 6671 & 6672 where you glue the part over a piece of heavy metal to keep its shape , good idea. I'll keep it in my records :-)

I've just ordered an Introduction.

popad, I understand that you used Corona DS-843 servos on at least one of your Introduction builds. Have you had good experience with these servos?

Thanks for this build thread. I am sure I will reference it a lot.

Thanks !

I have used in all 3 my "Intoduction F5J" this servo Corona DS-843MG.

And after 497 flights in 3 years, I think that was a very good choice.

Have fun with your build and fly !

Thanks popad. That is a lot of flight testing. And thanks for the build thread!

Also, I noticed the build manual recommends what glue to use where (thin CA, thick CA, epoxy)

Since you have built many gliders, I am curious what glue choices you made in the Introduction, generally speaking of course, where you may have deviated from the German/English translation suggestions.

I think I would be tempted to use aliphatic (Titebond)for parts like the tailfeathers and fuselage doubler/braces, and thin CA for the rib to spar joints (with thicker to fill gaps as as rib to LE and TE. I am fairly allergic, but I hold my breath, and then leave the room, and repeat, and have used it with other carbon tube spar gliders since very little is needed.

But I am curious about your choices.

Also, what is the best spinner size. Hyperflight indicates 38mm. Some on the other thread have used 36mm.

Your thoughts? Thanks, planning how to do a build is always interesting and fun.

Excelent idea !

I see today a video on youtube about Inside F5J, but the idea is good too for Introduction F5J.

Vertical stabilizer removable !

Next two fuselages will be like this one. Very good idea.

New fuselage with carbon pipe - version 2

I begin to build a new fuselage with carbon pipe, but this time I try to use more pieces from original kit. I will open a new thread for this build log, soon.

I hope this version of the fuselage is a little lighter than the first one.

The first version proved to be durable enough to withstand harder landings, partly due to the pilot's lack of training and the weather conditions during the last competition.
