Thanks Popad for this maiden tests. Rich in information, you make us afraid with the firsts hand throw :-)
Impressive if i understand well, the best hand throw with 8-10 km wind you reached 60 m ? Regarding the transportation box, now that i have built mine, i feel it is a very nice box. yesterday, adjusting the wings installation in the box. My step : awaiting for covering material delivery. |

First test with motor
Today, wind 5-6 km/h. Wonderful for first flights with motor.
In the configuration I used, it climbs like a rocket. Remember: motor XPower F2915/12 F5J XLIGHT, ESC Flycolor 40A, UBEC 6A/5V, battery 1400 mAh, 3S, 40C, 11"X6" carbon. In video is the first flight with motor. After some flights, baterry is used only 68%.

Thanks Popad for your timing explanation. Sorry for you that you have to wait May due to weather.
I am anxious about the covering that i will start may be next week. Based on your laptop background picture you did well ... What about landing ? are you happy ? did you test the air brakes ? did you retract them on time at touch down (to protect the flaps servos) ? |

Landing is not a problem. Until now I don't use break. I must check again mix from breaks and elevator, and test in flight. Setup percent of elevator down, that is a process in practice. Will be next step, then flyight with Altis nano. Now here, snow. This glider can land on its own. Fly wonderful. |

My OpenTX setup.
A 2-position switch for Vario. A 3-position switch for Normal, Thermal and Break. On Normal, I add snap flaps - it helps with tight turns, increasing lift. Pictures speaks ... |

Summary
A video summary for those who do not have the patience to follow this whole thread: from the beginning, the receipt of the kit and until the first flight. On the first glider I followed the manual as best I could, but on the second I used the experience I gained and combined certain steps. For this reason I preferred to include all the pictures during the construction. The first tests with hand launch followed, and finally a launch using the engine.
TO DO: follows the flap testing like the flight brake and the depth mix, and my last discovery in one of the books: snap flaps. |

Another video
Today, cover day, very little sun some times, wind 1.5 meter/ second.
Theme of this training sesion: launch, fly, landing at spot. First try for brakes. Works very good ! 90 degrees down, mix with elevator 20% down. |

On the flight ... today I tested the GliderKeeper ... On the first flight I did not record the time the engine was started. The second 9.09 seconds (F5J: 93.6 meters), the third 7.83 seconds (F5J: 94 meters). The graphic for the second flight (5.27 minutes). Glider after the 3 flights ...
